What it is like here
Derek founded this company after learning the trade in Army maintenance bays, so the shop runs the way a good maintenance shop does. Every diagnosis gets written as readings. Every route gets built by a person who knows the metro. You explain the numbers to the homeowner in plain words, and you go home when the day is done. The far job is Newark or Marysville, not another state.
Heating and Cooling Technician
Full-time. Two or more years of residential repair work, furnaces and air conditioners both, and the habit of measuring before concluding. Clean driving record and your own hand tools; the specialty instruments are provided. You should be comfortable with a homeowner standing in the furnace room doorway asking questions, because here the numbers get explained in plain words and questions are invited. Saturdays rotate across the whole crew, Derek included.
Apprentice
Full-time, no HVAC experience required, mechanical sense absolutely required. You will ride with Derek or Maya, learn how a system is supposed to read before you learn how it fails, and keep the logbook on every call until the habit is yours. Several strong technicians we know started exactly here, carrying tools and asking the second question.
